What this part is

84601887 is the Chevrolet part number for the GM Inflator Module. On the 2016–2024 Chevrolet Malibu this is the factory-fitted passenger airbag, carrying the same part number the dealer orders. Chevrolet supersedes 84010507 and 23366993 and 84243484 and 23348809 with it, so it is what to order if your old part carries one of those numbers. An airbag is a pyrotechnic part: it ships by ground freight and must be fitted by a qualified technician.

Ordering this part

This is the price we can supply this part for, new and genuine, from a franchised dealer. Fitting a passenger airbag on the 2016–2024 Chevrolet Malibu leaves the airbag module in a crash state: it has to be reset and the fault codes cleared before the system will arm again. KarmanAuto resets Chevrolet airbag modules by post, usually the same day they arrive.
